Okay, you may find this stupid, but I'm a newbie to the knitting world and I couldn't for the life of me figure out how to purl...until I watched this video. Awesome. Ramen noodles (and you) taught me how to purl. I love it. Thank you so much! :)

Spit-splicing? I doubt it.
I don't think you could make anything structural. Someone on the Etsy forums suggested shellacking it to create a pendant or something.
