I just love this pattern... I came across your blog by searching for a knitted beanie pattern and I love the projects on here. Thanks so much for sharing them!

Hi,

The pattern is beautiful and I was just wondering what do you mean when yo say:
Round 2: knit around

please clarify?

thanks :)

I just mean knit every stitch all the way around the round. The lacy pattern is only worked every other round.

Hi I'm knitting this pattern right now and love it. Thank you! I'm just starting the decrease and am confused about what you mean my "8 times", then "7 times" I've done hats before and understand the premise, but am not following this. Can you kindly try and clarify? Thank you!

As you decrease for the crown, you'll have fewer stitches and thus, fewer repeats of the pattern. So each time you decrease, you only have to do the bit in the brackets one fewer time than the previous odd-numbered round. For example, on round 1 of the crown shaping, you'll k2tog, then [k2tog, yo], [k2tog, yo], [k2tog, yo], [k2tog, yo], [k2tog, yo], [k2tog, yo], [k2tog, yo], [k2tog, yo], then go back and do all of this over again until you get to the end of the round. Then you'll knit one round even. The next odd round will be k3tog, yo, then [k2tog, yo], [k2tog, yo], [k2tog, yo], [k2tog, yo], [k2tog, yo], [k2tog, yo], [k2tog, yo], and repeat all of this to the end of the round. So each time you're doing doing fewer [k2tog, yo]'s between each decrease.

Does that make sense?

I am going out for yarn today. My poor mom was diagnosed with cancer 2 weeks ago, and started chemo yesterday. She will need something to keep her warm.

Thanks for posting your pattern and making it free.
